In this Find Your Finish Line episode, I'm joined by an extraordinary individual, Hari Budha Magar. Hailing from Nepal in South Asia, Hari is a mountaineer and adventurer who has broken multiple records in his career. But what sets Hari apart is his incredible resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
In 2010, Hari was serving as a British soldier in Afghanistan when he lost both his legs above the knee to an IED. Many people might have been discouraged by such a life-changing event, but Hari refused to be held back by his physical limitations. He went on to become the first ever double above-knee amputee to summit a mountain over 6,000 meters or 19,000 feet. And now, he's gearing up for his most ambitious challenge yet – to become the first DAK to summit Mount Everest in late April, 2023. Join us as we dive into Hari's remarkable story and learn about his journey to the top of the world's highest peak.

Lesley joins the show to discuss co-writing and producing the movie All Quiet on the Western Front. All Quiet on the Western Front tells the gripping story of a young German soldier on the Western Front of World War I. The movie has been nominated for nine Oscars, including Best Adaptive Screenplay. All Quiet on the Western Front releases March 28, 2023, via MPI Media.

Bob Babbitt is widely known as one of the most influential people in the sport of Triathlon. Bob is the co-founder of Competitor Magazine and the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Bob has been inducted into the Carlsbad 5000 Hall of Fame, the LA Marathon Hall of Fame, the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame, and the Ironman Triathlon Hall of Fame.
As the ultimate storyteller of Triathlon, Babbitt has authored six books on endurance sports and conducted thousands of interviews with athletes and icons of the sport. Bob's contributions to Triathlon continue to this day through his interviews and articles featured on babbitville.com. The sport of Triathlon would simply not be what it is today, without Bob Babbitt.

In this episode, I speak with the father-daughter triathlon duo Tad Weiss and Maggie Swanson. Maggie's story is an incredible journey of hope, healing, and recovery.
After her sophomore year in college, Maggie went overseas to study abroad and train for her upcoming cross-country season. While training, Maggie was hit by a bus that ran a red light going nearly 40 miles per hour. Maggie shattered her pelvis, broke an elbow, and suffered a traumatic brain injury. The physical and mental healing process was an arduous journey. Maggie started by learning how to walk again, then progressing to swim, and eventually, she'd start running again.
Maggie built up her confidence through physical activity and was ready for a new challenge. Fourteen months after the accident, Tad and Maggie signed up for a triathlon and successfully completed it together. Find out how a Father & Daughter bond helped heal Maggie and her entire family. Lynn lost her son to suicide in 2009 and has dedicated her life to sharing his story, the causes and contributing factors in depression and suicide, and the importance of treating mental illness with understanding and compassion. Lynn shares how competing in marathons and IRONMANs has brought her joy, a feeling of accomplishment, and a sense of healing.

Ryan Kinder, is a Soulful Country/Pop singer and 2022 IRONMAN Hawaii finisher. Ryan started playing in bars and touring when he was fourteen years old. He has shared a stage with incredible artists like Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Bonnie Raitt, John Fogerty, ZZ Top, and Santana. During the pandemic, Ryan rode his stationary bike for twenty-four hours straight to raise money for the IRONMAN Foundation.
